Spring is a coming and busy farm life...

Posted in On The Farm

I've been waiting on spring for what seems like forever. But that's just because I love planting flowers and things like that. Being outdoors more and taking photos of just about anything and everything.

We've had nice weather the past few days. Yesterday is was windier and just chillier. Monday was a lovely day we had about 74 degrees on monday. We live in North Central Minnesota. And my son was wearing shorts. Y a don't see that too often in March.....lol.

Anyway today we sit here with it gloomy, chilly and a bit of wind. Oh and the lovely rain. I don't mind rain really. I know it will help the frost factor in the ground. Which my husband will love, he wanted to dig some holes for an idea he had for the pig shelter outside. But he was only able to dig a couple inches. So we need a new idea.

They got my chicken coop that came with my chickens off the trailer. It needs to be fixed a bit though. The one wall is pushed in a little. The trailer it was on was much higher then we probably should have had it on. But we had no other one at the time.

Dh needs to fix that up and then the floor. IT will be great for them until winter then I'm putting them back in the lean of the barn. Where they are now. Its just warmer. They got spoiled by having a heating lamp on. I just felt so bad for them because it was like 20 degrees in there this winter or 0 depending on the weather outside.

Dang I"m rambling again. I think I have some chicken issues.....lol.

So anyway the cicken coop will be fixed up, the fenced in *yard* for them. And we are going one step further to putting chicken wire along the top because we have a ton of Hawks around here. I just hope we can figure out how to prevent the foxes from getting them.

Not sure if we'll have any chickens running around the yard. It might be nice to taking care of the bugs but I'm not sure I like the idea of stepping in poop when I go around barefooted.....lol
