Ok I have 3 Rhubarb plants that have been out back for YEARS....lol. I mean my whole life I remember them being planted there. Is there such a thing as them getting too old?? When's the right time to pick them and make stuff with it?? I'd like to try some recipes with the Rhubarb since we already have it but I'm clueless.

Hi,
I'm not sure how long rhubarb plants will live, but I have three that I've had for 19 years and they are still going strong.
There's a recipe for Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp on my blog that you might want to try. :-)

Hi again!
If you go back to my blog and go to the May 6th entry, you will see a picture of one of my rhubarb plants. If your plant is as big as that one, then I'd say it's ready for picking. :-)
Here's a website that has some good information:

Oh, and be sure NEVER to eat the leaves...they are poisonous.

someone asked about this a few weeks ago, at least the recipe part, and I will tell you too:
Taste of Home had a rhubarb contest in its last issue, so go there for lots of yummy yummy (I assume, since I have never had rhubarb) things to do with it.
