Just a little update.....

Oh Wow, where do I begin?.........

Well its been a while since I last posted, not a whole terrible lot has been going on just being busy as usual.

We all got that really bad cold that was going around, but we didn't keep it long thank goodness, the boys had it the worst I think, actually they were fine except for Brady had a runny nose, it was non stop running too, and Colby had a cough but that was about it. Mike and I suffered for a couple days with congestion and headaches but like I mentioned before it didn't last long.

Colby lost another tooth. We fondly refer too him as our Jack O'Lantern!!  He thinks its funny that he is a Jack O' lantern!!

I guess the biggest thing that happened was that dh's sister called us on MLKjr Day and told us that she was moving to Arizona. She took only what she could pack in her van, the rest she sold or gave away or otherwise got rid of. She and her boyfriend left Virginia on a Saturday afternoon the 9th, they never stopped for lodging, they took turns, one would sleep while the other drove and vice versa. They made it to AZ in like 3 days. They had an apartment waiting for them when they got there, evidently she found an ad online in one of AZ's local papers, and faxed them all the application info was approved and that was that.

I guess it took me this long to get my head somewhat around it, to be honest I am not sure I will ever understand but she is an adult and she needs to make her own choices in life, and besides who am I to judge?

The only thing I guess I can comment on is I feel bad for her kids, they are here in VA with their dad,  and they don't understand at all. they are hurt and angry, really angry. Its going to be tough for a while but hopefully they will realize that there are a lot of people still here that love them and support them. I am not saying their mom doesn't love or support them I can't speak for her, I just want them to know that we love them very much and are here for them should they need us.

Their dad and step mom have been great about letting us see them,  infact we had them for the weekend that their mom left. It was a rough weekend to say the least but we got through it. Then the next weekend we were invited to their home for a birthday party for our nephew. Wow its hard to believe that he is 15 yrs old now, he was only 3 when dh and I started dating. He has really grown!!

Dh has been working alot of overtime, I just wish he got paid for it, sadly he doesn't since he is salary. He has a lot of projects that need to be done and it seems they all need attention right now!!

Other than that I guess we are waiting for spring like everyone else!! The boys want outside something fierce, I let them play out a bit but not really since its been so cold and windy. I have a feeling that once warmer weather gets here I will be fighting them to get them inside at night!! But that is ok. I have lots of ideas on things I want to do outside with our yard. It needs cleaned up pretty bad. Then of course there is the garden, I really hope the garden does well this year.

I am thinking of working on my menu planning with gusto, lol Gas is going outrageous here and I am seriously thinking of how to work it out that I can go shopping once a month. Coming up with a months worth of menus is not so bad its coming up with the money for shopping only once a month that is the issue.  Once summer gets here though it would be beneficial to get the shopping for the month done all in one day, simply because I want to devote a good deal of my time to the garden and the harvest!!  Speaking of gas prices, are you seeing a significant rise in your area? Yesterday I had to go to the library to return some movies, the gas station closest my house was 2.99 a gallon for regular at 11:30am, at 12.45pm  it was 3.05 and today it was 3.12 a gallon. Thank God my husbands car is good on gas, otherwise I don't know what we would do.

Gas is ridiculous here. It went from $3.04 to $3.19 in Romney and from $3.05 to $3.25 in Moorefield over night.
