Update on my cousin...

He is,  I guess getting better but slowly, they put a trach in his throat. They took him off of the sedation and he is conscious but he keeps his eyes closed, he will open them if asked too but then shuts them immediately. They moved him from ICU to a PICU, which is step better that ICU, then he continued to do a bit better and They moved him this week to a rehab facility, he has to learn to Talk, walk, everything all over again. He so far doesn't have any paralasis, but they haven't got him up to walk or anything. They said he doesn't know people/family  like they think he knows them that he is just reacting to people talking to him.
 
They said its going to be a slow road for him but, the good news is before they moved him to the rehab facility his mom was talking to him to tell him that they were moving him, he mouthed the word mom, then when she told him that the people were there to move him to the other facility he mouthed the word home.
 
So I think and I hope that the fact that he is mouthing words and knows who she is means maybe he isn't as bad as the drs think?
Still praying his will get better!!
