More picturesWe lost one of the babies, at church someone told me that's it's common with the first birth, i probably was her first. And the poor thing was a little smaller than the one still alive. I think i've looked right and it's a girl!! If not, oh well, but i think so. The name will be Angie if so. Here is the cutie!!
Ever touched a fresh egg??We took a walk out to the barn a few minutes ago to check on everyone before bed. The chickens were up roosting and one of them had their bottom facing us. Well i shined the light on her and there was an egg coming out!!! She was like 4 feet up in the air! I gasped and it plopped onto the ground. My husband went in to pick it up and it's totally soft!!! You can squeeze it and see through it with light shining on it. Totally cool. I never knew it!! Now i've seen a REALLY fresh egg!! We have babiesI was at cub scouts tonight and my husband called and said Oreo, the white one had her babies!!!!! They are about 3 hours old now, this pic was taken a while ago and my batteries died so i will get more tomorrow!!!
We got 3 more goats.....The black one is a male and the other 2 are very pregnant girls!!!! Just brought them home yesterday and will be getting places ready for them to have babies really soon, they look like they will bust!!!!
ChickensI keep getting 2 or 3 eggs a day from them. I think it's great since it's winter. I just wonder how long the eggs stay fresh and good after laid. Anyone know? Finally an EGG!!!!I've had these 4 hens for a month and i finally got an egg this morning!!!
Our new goatsI know i said i'd do this sunday but it ended up i didn't have any time. We finally did the base boards in the living room and kitchen. So here are the goats, except white girl, haven't taken her picture yet.
Prissy is the dark one and Dude is the white one.
New chicken yardWe are leaving washington in 3 weeks and i've talked with my husband about building it. He'll be off and relaxing until mid-august , that's when he's officially going to be out of the army. I"m going to have him and austin tear down 2 old sheds behind the house and put the chicken yard where the big long one is. The grass is still gone underneath it, just dirt so it's a great place. Kinda close to the back door and right next to the wash house. I'm going to miss this place so much but i can't wait to get back to the country. Stocking the pondWell my granny had gone fishing in my pond a few days ago and there are just too many brim. She is going to get some channel catfish to put in there and thin them out a bit so we'll be able to get bigger fish soon. I'm excited, wish i were there now to feed them and take care of everything. But she's got my back until i get there! |
