Weekend Warriors
The house kept us going all hours.
Painting, repairing (You’d think by now we’d be done, but we keep finding things that need our attention – it doesn’t help that in the midst of this, there are other outside obligations), cleaning…never ending work.
We did replace the broken mirror, so that was a fun event.
The garden was neglected most of the weekend. I just couldn’t get to it. I am afraid to see what’s gone on in there while I wasn’t looking. Nasty weeds taking over, no doubt.
School starts soon, and I still have not filled out my planning chart for the year. I must get busy with that. I may do that today, since Mondays are generally my “office days”. I guess I could mail my bills, too (This is an area where I get into trouble – I write all the checks and subtract the values from my register, but I forget to mail them!).
We are supposed to go camping with family this weekend (I don’t want to, but in the spirit of maintaining good feelings we can’t say no again), and Labor Day weekend is a three day trip to Oregon.
The landlords come that week and I feel overwhelmed at the thought of having everything done in time. It’s not just time, it’s money! Where will it come from? Time to remind myself of where my helps comes from: not The Job, not my own resources (what resources? LOL), not an inheritance from man. My help comes from the Lord!
So, my prayer today (Alllll day) will be: “Lord, you are my provider; redeem my time and finances!”

Ah, dear friend! I wish I lived nearby and could help. Maybe you wouldn't let me actually install mirrors (laughs) but I could always bring over dinner or something . . . :) Isn't it sad that sometimes when we can't do anything else we think to pray? And sometimes I think maybe that's the best we can do to help! I'm praying for you and yours!
