I don't believe in bad luck!

We have been working so hard to make our little place cozy.  We spent the entire day painting and hanging shelves.  My husband also repainted the frame on the mirror that hangs over the mantle.

It looked so great.  We all stepped back to admire it.  I think it was about three seconds before it slipped of the hooks and dropped to the mantle.  We breathed a sigh of relief.  Then we watched in horror as it slowly tipped forward and sumersaulted off the ledge.  It crashed on the hearth "head first" and broke into a thousand shards!

I actually had to fight back tears.  So nice, but so brief.  My poor husband is still fretting over walking away.  How could he know it wasn't secure?  It LOOKED secure and FELT secure.  It seemed to fall in slow motion, but he was not able to catch it in time, so it must have been fast.  It was the trauma of the moment that slowed time down! LOL

Anyway, we have tried every framed picture in the house in the same spot and none will do.  We must have a mirror over the mantle, so we will wait until just the right thing turns up!

I had to get this off my chest so that I don't make my poor DH miserable by bringing it up!

Good Night.

So nice to find someone else who is renting, and has to have a lot of faith and imagination to see a bright future! Not to mention when decorating!

It's so heartbreaking when that happens. Hopefully you can find something that works perfectly for you.

OH NO!!! That is SO SAD! :(
I will let you know that ROSS has the cheapest, nicest mirrors around, $25-30 for the big ones. DO NOT go to Bed, Bath & Beyond, the prices are ridiculous! Of course you could go to St. Vincent's or Hospice thrift stores and find one for cheaper then paint it what ever color you like.
