Fall Plans and Plantings
I finally got to plant some things for the Fall garden!
I planted 2 types of lettuce- a Bibb type, and a Mesclun mix yesterday. I also planted Bloomsdale Spinach (I think that's the correct name), and some Curly Parsley.
I hope to get transplants for broccoli, cauliflower, and perhaps a cabbage or two planted by early next week.
I'll also plant a few seeds for cucumbers and squash a.s.a.p.
By Oct. 1, I plan to have chard, collard greens, and beets in the ground; and possibly a second sowing of lettuce, spinach, and parsley.
The herb and flower beds are badly in need of clearing out and cleaning up in preparation for a Fall planting of Violas, Pansies, Nasturtiums, and perhaps a Sweet Pea vine or two...
I'll have to tackle those next week, we're going to a church leadership conference this weekend. Pray for safe travel for us, please . Should be an interesting weekend, we are travelling with 2 other couples from church, and they are lots of fun!
Have a great weekend!
