Ramblings from the Washer Woman

LAUNDRY...

I hate laundry.  OK, technically, I hate to fold, hang, and put away the laundry; and stand over the girls as they do theirs .  Laundry accumulates so very quickly in our family of 5.  It's mostly the girls clothes, and I've come to the conclusion that they have way too many to choose from- so they change clothes more than they should.  When it's time to clean their room, they've discovered it's so much easier to toss all of the scattered clothes into the laundry than it is to actually check to see which ones are clean and put those back where they belong.  So, I've decided that this weekend "we" are going to go through their clothes and eliminate anything they don't wear regularly, anything torn or stained, and then keep just what they really "need".

Then, I'm going to have to start a better system of keeping the clothes where they need to be.  My dh suggested putting a lock on the closet door so only I can get in and get the clothes .  Call me lazy, but I don't want to have to dole out clothing to  a 5, 6, & 9 year old every morning .  I know that some good old fashioned habit training is in order- for me as much as for them .  Perhaps I should make a bunch of little post-it notes that say "Where's Your Laundry?" like the little e-mails I used to get from FLYLADY???

As soon as one of the 3 princesses is tall enough to reach into the washer and get the clothes out and into the dryer and operate the controls without climbing on the washer or dryer- they will be in charge of their own laundry!

Any of you have a tried and true method for keeping up with Mt. Washmore???  If you do, please share it with me!

Laundry Challenged- that's me!

Haven't found a method but if you find one please tell me!! I have 6 kids and I seem to wash the same things over and over and over again. Short Man is the biggest culprit of that. He doesn't like to put his clothes away properly so then he gets a dirty shirt in with the clean ones and they all land back in the dirty clothes. AARRRGGGHHHH!!!! All of mine (except for the baby, of course) do it to some degree. As a matter of fact- so does hubby! Yeesh!

All for His glory, ~Rhen
PS- your hubby's answer sounds like something mine would say. Not practical or helpful but they feel like they have contributed. LOLOL
