Good Neighbors

.....around here!  I haven't had much time for posting lately, our schedule is a bit too busy for my liking right now, but this too shall pass.   It's also been raining, raining, raining.....FLOODING is more like it.  Thankfully, we've not been affected much; though if it rains any more, the road  from town to our house may be closed due to high water.....that won't be good .

I do want to take a minute just say how thankful I am for this blogging community, and for my "homestead friends".  I have friends who use other blog sites, and I found out recently that some of their "neighbors" aren't what I'd call good company- to put it mildly.  Now, I know that these people have no control over the other bloggers, and I'm not so naive as not to realize "what's out there" on the internet....but really. 

I thought perhaps I might start another blog, "just because".....  So I spent some time checking a few places to see what those "communities" were like,  if there were other good homestyle blogs, and to see what some of the  blogs were about.....NOT a good idea!  

Many of the blogs were in foreign languages, which I did find rather interesting- not that I could read them, but it was neat to see the differences in languages and writing.  I'm probably glad that I couldn't actually read some of them. 

As for others, I was shocked to say the least, and not at all happy to have to shut down my browser to get away from the ugly pop ups from some sites.  Not only that, but when I was on the "home page" of one of the sites,  one of the "blogs of note" for the day was openly p*rn*graphic.  Ugh.  That's certainly something to note, isn't it?  I noted that I would not be blogging at either of those places, and thanked the Lord for providing this safe place for me to call "home".   I would hate to know one of my children, or anyone was reading my blog, hit "next" and was exposed to some of what I saw...... 

So, a big hug and a huge Thank You from me to the HSB staff for providing us with Homestead Blogger!

I am also very, very glad to have such "good neighbors".

Have a great weekend....I'm off to spray soapy water on the aphids that have attacked my Foxgloves, oh and eat one of the wonderfully juicy peaches that one of my "real life" neighbors gave me......yummmmmm .

I so hear you on this ~ there is no place to blog like homestead..... the other blog spots do allow porn and foul language....... it is so safe here, and I am so thankful for the standards that are kept here!

I had a blog on blogspot a while back and then found out that they allow porn -- so I deleted my blog.......

I love it here and can't imagine blogging anywhere else!

I can relate totally. I blogged on one site for one day! I like to do random blogs and I clicked on next blog from mine and low and behold a naked woman. Three blogs over naked men. Needless to say I closed out came here and didn't go back. It is so nice to have a safe home!! God bless your day!
