Just Popping In......

for a quick Hello! 

First of all, I survived VBS !  Thanks for the prayers, friends; I know they are what got me through.  It was a very long week; but it did have some bright spots- the Crafts teacher playing Twister with the little guys in my group was definitely one of them .  It was too funny.  I will post a photo or two soon, if I have a chance. 

Next, I made Plum Preserves, Plum Butter, and Plum & Honey Preserves!!!  That was fun....well, most of it was fun; I did have one little "mishap" .  I was in a bit of a rush to get done (VBS week, you know), and I put the HOT plum mixture in the blender (my new blender which has different settings than my old one); long story short, instead of pulse, it was Super HI  or something and it blew the lid right off the blender and sent HOT plums flying all over the kitchen...and me .  I only ended up with one small blister on my arm, thanks to a healthy Aloe plant right outside the kitchen door.  Boy did I have  a sticky mess to clean up after that one. 

The next day I was in the kitchen and dropped something; my oldest dd called from her room, "Do you need more Aloe Vera, Mom?!?!".  

I'll post the recipe for the Plum Honey Preserves later.  It's yummy!!!

OK, I'm going out in the humidity and heat to harvest Poppy seeds before they POP all over the flower bed, and check to see if I have any more ripe tomatoes.  The girls got all the green beans this morning for a little snack!
