Today's Blessing

One of the sweet, sweet ladies from church called me earlier and said she was bringing me some green beans and peas from the garden.  She cooked a double recipe of both and wanted to share with us.  Yummy!  She also brought along some frozen squash, tomatoes, chicken, hamburger, CAKE.... let's see...ketchup, cornbread mix, tortillas, canned fruit, Jello, and even an onion!  Looks like my shopping is done for the week .  We are truly blessed with some wonderful church family here.  Our neighbors across the road still bless us weekly with fresh eggs, and now are sharing their veggies too- green beans and squash last week. MMmmmm!!!

I am so thankful for these kind people and their generosity.  Especially as today my own tomato plants are not looking very healthy.  I'm not sure what's wrong with them, but they're sickly looking that's for sure.  The leaves are turning yellowish and droopy starting at the bottom.  This is a new one for me, so I guess I'll have to do some reading on tomato care this afternoon.  I'll give them a few days to perk up, and if they don't I guess I'll just pull them out and plant a few okra in their place.  The green beans are up and looking pretty good, and the pepper plants are blooming and look good, too.  Cucumbers are just getting their first set of true leaves.

Have a great weekend!

Catherine

Our garden is looking really nice now after that last bout of storms pushed through. Not sure if it will hold out though as we are expecting more rains....I could end up with mush for a garden.
It is truly wonderful to hear of church families doing what they are called to do -- help each other. So many churches are too large to even know your name these days. It's good to hear that some are holding to what Scriptures call them to do...very encouraging.

Catherine,

I'm so happy to read about your blessings today. God is good!!!

Are your tomatoes maybe suffering from a nitrogen deficiency? That causes the yellowing of the leaves and droopiness.
