Catherine Love~ Ramblings from my Heart and Home | |
Still Here.....sorta Sorry for my absence both here and on the Front Porch. Thank Goodness Grandma Rosie has jumped right in and posted some excellent things in the Farm and Garden section. Hugs to you dear lady Life has been, well different, I guess lately. I've not been blogging much because I just haven't had the heart to write about gardening, cooking, etc. when my heart and mind have been elsewhere. I do pop in frequently to read all the great things you guys are up to! The Lord has had me reading, reading, reading His Word, and spending much time thinking about what I've read and much time in prayer. The ministry we are in is challenging to say the least. There have been some really good things happen; and there have been some almost unbelievable battles. The Lord is at work, and the enemy doesn't like it at all! I did finally get some things planted in one raised bed yesterday, the second needs about 3 more inches of soil mix added before I can plant it. I planted 3 tomatoes, 2 jalapeno peppers, and seeds for cucumber and bush beans. Then, the storms came!!!! I looked out the window last night at the torrential rains and wind and whined to my husband, "God doesn't want me to have a garden!!!!" There they stood: 3 tomatoes in their wire cages, straight and tall as if nothing had happened; 2 very green pepper plants, looking happy and healthy. As for the seeds, only time will tell, but things look promising! I've got a few new things growing in containers: Pickle Bush Cucumbers, Lemon Basil, Lemon Verbena, Lavender, a Nearly Wild Rose. Oh, and I have seeds started for Cypress Vine, Moonflower, and Crimson Morning Glory I've been reading about Permaculture, which I'm finding quite fascinating. I'll try to post a few tidbits on the Front Porch Monday morning. Now I need to make lunch for the girlies and tidy things up in preparation for this evening's gathering here. We are leading a group through A Spiritual Formation Workbook , a Renovare resource for spiritual renewal, which is a great small group resource. I couldn't insert the link for their webpage, so I'll just type it out here: I'll be back online soon!
