Laundry Is Fun.....

for my kids anyway (I personally do not find any  fun in doing the laundry)!  My girly girls are outside with a wagon-ful of water and an odd assortment of dress-up clothes, old curtains and who knows what else, "washing clothes" to their hearts' content.  My oldest made a clothesline from some twine, using a tree and the basketball goal post to string it between.  They are having a blast!  It's nearly 80 degrees here today, just in case you're wondering .  Their enthusiasm for handwashing (this isn't the first time they've done this by any means), has gotten me to thinking......

What if I bought them a "real" washtub, rub board and one of those nifty looking Rapidwashers from Lehman's??? My husband could easily construct a suitable clothesline, just their size.   Would they still want to wash clothes???  Perhaps they could wash their own clothes...... especially since they seem to feel the need to change clothes several times a day .  They're not quite big enough to use the washer and dryer, yet.  But this just might be a plan .....

I'll try to post a picture later- they're too funny!

Of course, their "wash day" is even more work as they are "travelling", most likely by covered wagon ......very imaginative children I have!

Awwww... That is so sweet!!! My little brother loves to help me with the laundry. He helps me hang the laundry on the line.
I would love to see a picture of your children doing this.

I love hanging out my clothes on the line. I would have loved to live in the days when you had no choice but to use the line outback. When Katrina hit us I was without electricity for almost two weeks and I was using a washboard that I have hanging up on the wall as decoration. It was fun, just hot as heck but fun. I had gas to cook with so we did just fine, but did I mention it was hot.l......LOL
