Choosing Joy

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. James 1:2-3. 

This verse has been my theme for the past few weeks.  Various trials- we've had 'em.  Still have some of them, and I won't be a bit suprised to find more coming; though I'm praying hard that our faith has been tested sufficiently for this season and the LORD feels we have the endurance that we need, and these trials will go away.

Still, during our time of trials (stomach flu, dentist visits, missed work, transmission dying in van and various other auto issues, last but not least jury duty summons for my dh)..... blessings abound. 

The seeds are sprouting- lettuce, mesclun, radishes, beets, poppies, larkspur, bachelor's buttons, and peas are all popping up and hinting that Spring is indeed on it's way.

Our church blessed us with a "pounding"- my pantry is quite full.  As a matter of fact, I had to rearrange my cabinets just to make room for all they brought us. 

Last week I received 2 gallons of "raw for retail" cows milk- delicious.

1 1/2 dozen fresh eggs from the neighbors- who also promised more as long as I save the cartons! 

Several pkgs. of frozen venison, and instructions on how to properly cook it!

A new computer- yea, yea, yea!!!

And.....a beautiful new quilt for my bedroom, with the promise to build me a picket fence headboard soon- an anniversary gift from my dear hubby. 

All of these blessings, plus the countless blessings of hugs, kisses, pictures and "I Love You Mommy" from my sweet babies, make the trials seem a little less "trying".

Just popping in to say hello. This flu seems to have a lot of people down. My daughters families are all sick. So far I have been able to outrun it. Hope you are all better soon. HUGS!
