Question for the Soapmakers

OK....go ahead and laugh, but how do you clean your soapmaking utensils when you're all done making soap???  One book says "DO NOT wash the stuff into the septic or sewer system!"  Of course, it left out just what you are supposed to do... 

I found some lye finally, and now that we have a shed/workshop with electricity and access to running water, I have a place to make soap without worrying about fumes or accidents, etc..... but, I'm really wondering how I'm supposed to wash pans, spoons, etc...... .

Help please!

I am thinking how I washed my stuff.... I think just in the sink with vinager first then water.... but that was on the municipal line. I now have a septic, and I will be watching your post here to see what I need to do now!
