Preparing to Plant

I'm getting ready to start our garden!  Yea!!!  Actually, I'm preparing to plant some things in containers this week, and hopefully we will have 2 raised beds built in the next couple of weeks. 

Here's what I'm planning to plant in my containers:

Spinach

Radishes

Beets

Sugar Snap Peas

Microgreens- I just had to try these- they're from Burpee seeds.

Parsley

Cilantro

Nasturtiums

and a few flowers- dianthus and violas for sure.

The girls planted pots of Bibb lettuce, Mesclun, and Parsley last week, too. 

I will also sow seeds for spinach, radishes, and beets in the garden beds when we get them built.  I've never grown beets, and really don't know what to do with themonce I harvest them.  Well, I do know they make pretty dye for eggs!  Any beet lovers care to share a recipe or two with me???
