Garden and Homestead Dreams...

I posted a bit about planning for the New  Garden Year on the Front Porch this morning.  I ordered some new seed catalogs last week, and have already received one or two others in the mail.  I LOVE dreaming and planning for next season's gardens!  I do have to be careful, or I will plan and plant way more than I want to care for come the hot, hot, hot days of June and July! 

One of my dear friends sent me seeds for Christmas-  what a great gift!  My garden this spring will be filled with plants grown from seeds given to me by this sweet lady, as well as some that a fellow blogger here shared with me.  Those flowers, veggies and herbs will be very special indeed! 

Since we're moving come the end of January, and don't yet know exactly where that will be...I'm not able to plan as I would like to.  I am planning on having a garden, because space for a garden is a must wherever our new homestead will be.  Yet, until I know how much space we will have, etc. I can only dream and make my wish lists for now. 

We have a realtor looking for a little homestead just right for us.  One where we can have gardens, chickens, a couple of goats, and room for the kids to run.  We may have to rent for a while longer until we find "our homestead"; but will be moving from this apartment the end of January.....to "somewhere". 

My husband was called to a church nearby as the "Minister of Education"...very fitting position for a homeschool dad, don't you think?!? We plan to move into the community where the church is located.  It is a country setting, but close to town, too.  It's also right by Lake Belton, which my daughters really like.   They are already asking when they can go swimming!

Please pray with us for the LORD to show us our new homestead soon!  In the meantime, I'll be perusing those catalogs, and dreaming of my new home and gardens...

Also dreaming of and planning my garden for this coming season. I have recieved a fruit and nut tree catalog in the mail this past week, and today a Seeds of Change catalog....I will go "window shopping" in that on later today.LOL
Good luck on finding your new homestead, we are looking also, but as we live on 3 1/2 acres we are buying now we are taking our time to find the "right" one. (the one we are buying now has power lines running through the pasture and too many rocks(and boulders) and it makes it hard to utilize the land the way we want to.)
