A Proud Mama Moment

Warning: Long and Rambling Brag on my Children to follow!!!

First, I'll need to give you a bit of "background information" here .  As some of you know, we've been praying and waiting for the LORD to direct us to our new homestead...I've been teasing you with bits of information now and then.  Really, we haven't had much information ourselves!  Part of that waiting involved visiting a prospective church, then praying and waiting on the LORD as well as the church elders to make a decision.  Last Saturday my dear husband was "unofficially" accepted as a staff member...sorry his actual job responsibilities as well as title are still a bit sketchy.  Servant is a good title, because he has a servant's heart and doesn't care a bit about having a "title".  Still with me here?  OK, I'm getting to the bragging about my babies part!

 We were recruited into the choir for the Christmas Cantata .  I don't think they had actually ever heard us sing!  Now, since Carl and I were in the choir making a Joyful Noise on Sunday evening, that left my 3 little girlies to sit all alone in the congregation.  We had to be at church early to practice, which they also had to sit thru...

When it was time for church to start, my husband placed them in our "regular seat" - 2nd row from the front.  They sat thru the whole program and were very, very good!  My littlest Love (4) did get a bit restless because she was having trouble seeing Baby Jesus in the manger. My oldest(8) had her sit down on the floor so she could see better.  This did cause the whole choir to get a peek at her Strawberry Shortcake panties ; but some hopefully discreet "looks" from me quickly got her back in a more modest position! 

After church, one of the elders, who I think was just a bit skeptical about us, came up and with a huge grin, said "A family under control! God Love you!!!" And gave me a hug!  Several others approached my husband and told him how good the girls were. One man even shared that he raised 5 children and they acted like ours- sat down and were quiet.  I think that my children's behavior alleviated any questions these people may have had about my husband's leadership qualities.  And, I am without a bit of shame, bragging on my babies! 

Yes, they were only doing what should be expected:  Sit down and Be quiet in church.  But, that is sometimes hard for adults, and even harder for little ones- especially if Mommy and Daddy are not right there with them. 

OK, I'm almost finished rambling on... just an encouragement to you Moms who sometimes wonder:

Yes, all the hard work and training are worth it, and sometimes they will make you oh so proud!

 Other times you will wonder where on earth they got that idea, too!  Rememer, mine are the children who dip their hair in their milk, and do other "oddball things"!

You have every right to be proud of your children and "brag" about them on a moment like this : ) I'm glad to hear your husband got accepted as a member of staff, too. Merry Christmas!
