Getting to Know You: Christmas Edition

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?  Hot chocolate, definitely!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? We don't do Santa...but, the presents at our house get wrapped- usually by my husband.  I love to use cute country gift bags, tons of tissue and bows myself- I'm not very good at wrapping.

 3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?  I like white; but my girls insisted on "multicolored lights" this year.  Who can resist a four year old who keeps asking for "multicolored" lights? 

4. Do you hang mistletoe?  No, but we did make some cute greenery balls.  I posted the directions on my homeschool blog.

 5. When do you put your decorations up? Family tradition says you must decorate the day after Thanksgiving- not a moment later!

 6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?  Cornbread dressing with cranberry sauce.

 7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child:  Being at Grandma's house with all the cousins.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I was about 7, I think.....very sad to think that my parents would lie to me like that !

9. Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve?  Yes. 

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?  It's different every year.  This year we have "multicolored lights", red cardinals, little bird nests, assorted sprigs of red berries, apple/cinnamon hearts & stars, white snowflakes...and still to come will be popcorn strings, salt dough ornaments, and perhaps some gingham bows.

11. Snow: Love it or Dread it?  Love it!!!  Though in Texas, we seldom see it. 

12. Can you ice skate? No.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift?  The teapot my sweet husband gave me on our first Christmas together.

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you?  Celebrating the birth of Christ with our family and dear friends.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Chocolate Pie

 16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?  Baking and decorating cookies with our girls.

 17. What tops your tree?  This year a red cardinal.

 18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving?  giving

 19. What is your favorite Christmas Song?  O, Holy Night

 20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?  Yum.  Oh, I forgot- we have candy canes on the tree, too!
