Country Christmas
I like this poem.
Country Christmas
Let's hang up some suet
for juncos and jays,
let's put out some hay for the deer,
let's throw in some corn
where the cottontail stays,
this holiday season of year.
Let's scatter some millet
and barley and wheat-
it isn't much trouble or fuss
to give all the wild folk
a holiday treat
so they can have Christmas, like us!

This is a cute poem, Catherine. It makes me think of my 14 yo dd, Raquel. She's an avid bird watcher and likes to decorate the trees outside for her feathered friends and the squirrels. She hangs up pine cones that have been smeared with peanut butter then rolled in bird seed. She makes her own suet cakes and sets them out and hangs up bagels smeared with PB and birdseed too. Also popcorn garlands are a favorite.
