Random Ramblings, Thankful Thoughts and a Plea for Help with the Cranberry Sauce!

Are you ready for Thanksgiving?  I have my shopping list ready- I know, I know.....I should have already gone shopping.  But, the budget said I must wait until payday, which is Wednesday .  Perhaps the LORD feels it necessary to once more instill the fruit of Longsuffering into my life ...  I know that's probably way out of context, but longsuffering it will be- shopping the day before Thanksgiving!  I'll pray much before, and with His help, shop with a cheerful heart .

The Lord is working regarding our upcoming move.  I'm not saying a word until I know for sure where we're going; but things are happening along those lines. Though right now I don't even know exactly what it all means...  I do know that God is good and He always provides for His children, and some very interesting things have happened in recent days  .

I've lost my favorite, favorite recipe for Cranberry Sauce .  Since I only make it once or twice a year, I can't remember how to make it.....any of you have a recipe for Cranberry Sauce that's made with oranges and/or orange juice???  This recipe was so good, too...  Even my husband liked it, and he usually won't touch the stuff.  If you have a recipe like this, or even just your own favorite Cranberry Sauce recipe, would you post it on your blog and leave a comment so I can check it out?  I'd be ever so thankful ! 

We're going to make a Thankful Tree this week, too.  I posted on the Front Porch today about using a "Rosemary for Remembrance" as a holiday centerpiece; but I want to do this, too:

1.  Find a branch to use as your "tree".

2.  Stick the branch in a flower pot or other container.

3.  Fill the pot with gravel or plaster of paris to hold the branch.  If you want a temporary arrangement, use gravel.   Be sure to cover the hole in the bottom of the pot first!

4.  Cover the pot with pretty fall fabric, burlap or something to make it prettier, if desired.

5.  Cut leaves from construction paper, or gather real leaves that aren't too crispy from outdoors.

6.  Punch a hole in the leaves and tie on a piece of raffia or yarn to hang the leaves with.

7.  Let each family member write something they are thankful for on a leaf each day this week.  If you have guests, be sure to give them a chance to add to your tree, also.

8.  On Thanksgiving Day, give all the ladies a tissue, then take turns choosing a leaf and reading your  "Thankful Thoughts" aloud after dinner.  Rejoice in what the LORD has done!

By the way, I'm very thankful to the LORD for all of you- my "Homestead family".  You've given me much wonderful homestead advice, inspiration, ideas, recipes, and lots of laughs this year...you are a blessing!
