We Have a Home....

almost !  TODAY, hopefully we will finally be at the end of the maze of paperwork and red tape, and get the keys to our apartment.  I'm amazed at how much info. and just "stuff" this apartment community requires.  It is a government subsidized thing, so I'm sure that has just a "little bit" to do with it.  We do not qualify for their rent reduction or anything, but still have to jump through all their hoops.  No fun.  We filled out the application which asked WAY more info. than I was comfortable giving.  Had to get a signed statement from the sheriff's dept. stating we have no criminal record.  Then, after that was approved, still had to fax, sign employment verification, give 2 months bank statements (???), AND have the electricity transferred to our name.  Now, today we must take 3 separate money orders for deposit, key deposit, and rent.  ???  OK, I'm finished whining about the "stuff" we've had to do.  I know the LORD has led us here, and we're extremely blessed to be doing what we're doing.  But really!  OK, I'm done now.

  Guess I've been spoiled with the last 2 landlords we've had.  They've been wonderful.  As a matter of fact, we didn't even have to sign a lease or pay a deposit.  More blessings from the Lord. 

Well, at any rate, we should be moving Saturday!  We have dear friends from church who will be graciously helping us move and providing truck and trailer to do so. 

Our new home promises to be quite cozy, as it's a bit smaller than our little house.  That's OK, too- it will cause us to simplify even more; which is something we've been working on.  My front door is under the stairway, so I'm not sure how many plants I'll be able to grow there ...but, Carl suggested putting them out under our living room window.  They seem pretty relaxed about people having things in their "yard", I've seen a playscape, and several clusters of plants around trees.  Not to mention the obvious, bicycles and outdoor furniture.  So, I'm hopeful that I can find a little spot to claim for my own "potted garden".   

OK, that's it for now- I'm off to have a cup of coffee and organize my thoughts as to how I'm going to get this house packed up by Sat. am.

You have a grat attitude Catherine- anyone would be annoyed by all those questions! I hope it all goes well for you- moving is such hard work! I guess it's also a great opportunity to purge. I get sick of being bogged down with stuff.
