Hey

Just thought I'd check in and let you know that....

1.  I've not fallen off the face of the earth (though dd # 1 DID leave her library basket right in the middle of the aisle last week and I DID trip over it and fall oh so NOT gracefully down right in the middle of the cookbook aisle ).

2. I've NOT moved off to a remote homestead and gone completely off-grid, either.  Though it sounds very tempting.

3. NO, I've not been enjoying the "urban adventure" so much that I've abandoned the homestead life.  In fact, the urban life is beginning to wear on my nerves.  It seems that my family is so very interesting to some people who spend their time here; I think we're under surveillance.  Is it the homeschooling, container gardening, or the scents from my kitchen adventures, that keeps them peering in our door and watching as we come and go???    Perhaps it was the trip to the dumpster with my lovely vintage apron on!  Do I sound paranoid ?  It's SO tempting to just act really weird and see what happens . Of course, to the world, I suppose we are really weird-and that's OK too!

Actually,  I've just been T-I-R-E-D!  Know what I mean???  Don't mean to sound whiny, but it's so stinkin' hot here, the kids won't even play outside.  Then, we had the whole "lice" thing and I about wore myself out making sure those nasty things were out of here.  They're definitely gone, praise the LORD!  I also had an "extra child" for almost a week.  Not to mention, starting school, changing churches, having the apt. complex announce that we "might" be inspected by the USDA or whomever the powers that be that oversee our complex are...oh the JOY!!! 

So, now.... I'm finished with my little rant or whine or whatever it was ...

I feel So Much Better!!!

I'm back and in "homestead mama" gear today.  I have Molasses Oatmeal bread rising on the counter, Brocolli sprouts soaking, plans for fall containers and seeds to order in my notebook, and  printed out plans for a "make your own" cheese press (a project for dh) on the desk .  I feel like myself again!

Thanks for always being encouraging. It's hot here too! Not as hot as your area though! UGh! Sorry for you dearie.

Catherine -
Your blog sounds a whole lot like what I just posted - I have just been so tired lately - it has to be the heat!! But I'm ready to jump back in - I don't homeschool - my 14YODD goes to a small private Christian school - she is a freshman, a cheerleader, a softball player and on and on and on - so we are running like wild.....but it's my last 4 years...so I'm just going to enjoy!!!
