Honeybun Cake
Honey Bun Cake
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cake Mixture:
1 yellow cake mix
3 eggs
3/4 cup oil
1/2 cup sugar
8 ounces sour cream
Filling:
1 cup brown sugar
4 teaspoons cinnamon
Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
water or milk
Combine all ingredients for cake mixture and blend well. Pam or butter a 9x13 pan. Pour half of cake mixture into pan. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon on top of the cake. Pour on the rest of the cake mix. (I usually have to spread it out some or you can cut through it with a knife to swirl it.) Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until done. Let cake cool slightly. (I set the timer for 10 minutes.) Make icing with just enough milk or water to make it smooth enough to drizzle. Pour over slightly cooled cake.
I don't remember who shared this recipe with me, but it is very good. No, it's obviously NOT a healthy food , but a small piece every now and then couldn't hurt too much! This was a huge hit at one of our church fellowships. Think I'll make it again soon.
