Rainy Day...

.....I really do love the rain, don't you?  Everything seems so fresh and clean after the rain is over.  I've spent much of the afternoon sitting by the window and watching it rain...watching my girls edge ever so slowly, closer and closer to the edge of the porch, getting wetter and wetter, and hoping I don't see them!  Too late!  Back in the house, ladies!  I've been watching the Cardinal hop about searching for bugs that the rain may have washed up, or perhaps a seed or two.  I thought I would take a little nap; the girls thought otherwise; so I opted for a cup of coffee and a muffin instead.  Such is life.  The rain will be really good for my tomato plant and little herbs.  The tomato still has just one little tomato- though several blooms.  The herbs are hangin' in there and I hope that they will do better now that there seems to be a bit more sunshine filtering through.  They're sitting in the mud right now, though.  The rain makes a little river right down beside the sidewalk, and right through all my potted plants...oh well.

Happy rainy day!

When mine were small we moved to Denver and had not had rain in a few days. One evening the girls had their baths and were ready for bed when it started raining. And out they went to play in the rain - so we went out with them. I think that neighbors thought we were a little nuts, but we were from Oregon and had really missed the rain.

What fun playing in the rain!!
