Cute Craft from the Pantry
Posted in Family Fun
Alpha Beans ! I just love this craft idea. A bag of lima beans + a Sharpie = Lots of fun!
I plan to make a bag of these for my girls to use to practice spelling words, and to play Scrabble or Boggle type wordbuilding games with. I also think these would make cute refrigerator magnets. You could spell out messages or a "Word of the Day" for yourself or the children. JOY! is my favorite .
OK, check out the Alpha Beans and let me know what you think! Also share any other creative ways to use them that you dream up.
p.s. Thanks for the get well wishes and the prayers! We are all feeling a bit better today.

Cute idea. Such a cheap and fun way to learn letters and to spell. We have some alphabet magnets on the fridge but there is only one of each letter. Guess I need to put dried lima beans on my shopping list.
Thanks for sharing.

Cute, cute, CUTE idea! This would make a great little stocking stuffer next year.....pair it with some note pads and a pencil....divide up the beans to each player and see how many words they can form from their pile.....Too cute! Thanks so much for the idea!

When I taught public school I had bags of beans that I turned into 2 color counters. You lay the lima beans outside on newspaper and spray with yellow spray paint. Once they are dry, flip them and spray the other side red. We used them in math as a manipulative. It took a little time to do this, but it was MUCH cheaper than the two color counters sold at the teacher's store.
