WHY DO THEY DO THESE THINGS......

Oh, you're just not going to believe this one!  I still can't believe it myself.

Isn't there a quote about God protecting fools and little children, or something like that?  If not, there should be because He does.

OK, here's the crazy, scary, almost tragic thing that happened in my home.  My oldest child (name withheld to protect the insane) wanted to take a bath.  OK-no problem.  She's quite old enough to bathe on her own, so I was cooking, cleaning, doing those necessary "Mom things". A few minutes after she started her bath, I went in the bathroom for something, and there she is.....bathing , having a fabulous time with her soap, shampoo, whatever with a FAN sitting on the side of the tub!!!  Oh yes, plugged in and turned on!!!!!

Oh..... I managed to somewhat calmly snatch the thing away from the tub and then proceed to have a little "fit". WHY, WHY, WHY would anyone want a fan blowing on them in the bath, anyway?????  Aaaagggghhhh!!!!!!

All the while she's blinking at me with those big, blue eyes like I'm totally nuts and need to be comitted to an asylum- which at the moment seems blissfully peaceful! No fans, no sharp objects, lovely padded rooms.  What's that song?  Perfect Blue Buildings in a  Green Grassy Sea???  Nevermind- I can't even believe I remember that.

Her only defense to this madness was "You didn't tell me."  OH PLEASE, I know  we covered this one the time she tried to hand me the hairdryer to turn on for her while I was in the tub!

Dad is going to have to teach and/or  re-teach "Household Safety 101" it seems.

I still can't believe the child would do something so.........................STUPID.  sorry .....just needed to have a little "rant".

Now, I suppose I'd better go and place all electrical, sharp, and seemingly harmless but dangerous in the hands of a child things far, far out of her reach!  Never fear, after Mom's fit and apparent breakdown, she'll probably never touch an electrical appliance again

The LORD truly does protect His children!

OK.....now I'm going to make myself a nice cup of tea....valerian, I think.

Yikes! I would have freaked out too. I think the next time my DD9 wants to shower unsupervised I'll go over the "basics" with her again. Just in case.
Praising God your DD is SAFE!

It is a wonder that we survive our children.
Have just got to blog the story of my oldest.
What memories you bloggers are bringing to this ol' Okie's brain.
