Spider Mites

have attacked my Rosemary .  It was looking great last week, then a couple of days ago I noticed it looked rather wilty.  One of my dear gardening friends took one look and said it was spider mites.  I've never had spider mites on anything that I know of, so I had no clue...  nasty little critters can do mucho damage in just a very little time.   I sprayed it with a pyrethrin spray and hopefully it will recover.  My friends remedy was Raid Home and Garden spray.....

...I think not!  After I sprayed the poor thing, I looked closely at my other plants and discovered that one other plant- a Myrtle tree was also infected.  Ugh!  Today I'll spray again, this time with my stand by remedy for bugs- soap and water (perhaps some cayenne if you have squash bugs) and hope for the best.  

Try diotomaceous earth

You may want to try diotomaceous earth on the plants. It will not harm your plants but it will kill anything without a spine.... i.e. those spider mites and other bugs.

You should be able to purchase some at places like Lowe's, Home Depot, Pool Supply stores (possibly).

You would just need to wash any edibles plants good at harvest time.
