TV FREE

11:43, Wednesday, August 29, 2007 .. Posted in God Breezes .. 2 comments .. Link
Well, we had our first two TV free nights in a long time.  Here is what we did instead:

The first night the children played board games in the living room and my husband and I sat in there and talked, imagine that!

Last night it was a lovely warm evening, so my husband and I walked around the yard, watered the plants and animals then sat out on the deck and talked while the children jumped on the trampoline.

We are getting to bed earlier because we aren't trying to stay awake watching meaningless television.  There also seems to be more peace.  I can hear the sounds of the evening, the cows, and horses, the neighbors outside talking, the wind blowing thought the trees.  It is so pleasant!

We did find ourselves still LOOKING at the TV...lol  partly because our sofas face the TV, may need to do some re-arranging there.  We do still plan to watch DVD's once and awhile, but the day before I cancelled cable our big screen TV broke. lol  They will charge us $65 to come and tell us what is wrong with it, and then however much more to fix it...I don't know.

I don't really miss it, the thing I will miss most is Survivor and watching decorating and cooking shows, but a lot of things you can find on-line and Survivor will be on DVD without commercials!  So really what are we missing?
Pornography, bad language, perversion, immorality, the liberal agenda, murder, death and destruction, homosexuality, adultery, fornication, stealing, husbands and parents being made to look like fools, commercials, I could go on and on!

So GOOD RIDDANCE TO THE TV!

Our family watches very little TV. It actually makes me grumpy! I fall asleep as soon as an add comes on.

We are enjoying not having the TV on too.

We love playing board games as a family!

Bye Bye to the TV

Our home went without television for a year... it was a nice break from everything you speak of. It was the 2nd thing to go in tightening our budget, (and the 1st thing we brought back when we could).
Good luck!
