Great Weekend

This past weekend was such an enjoyable one.  Saturday we attended our homeschool support groups, End of the Year Picnic, we all had a lot of fun!  The children were able to socialize with their friends and they played some organized games like tug-o-war, sack races and a balloon toss.  They received Certificates of  Achievements (filled out by the parents) for special accomplishments through the school year.  They are always excited to see what Mom has said about them, it is so important to let them know when they are doing well.
After BBQing and eating our lunch, my husband played soccer for a couple hours, he was thrilled.  I enjoyed talking and laughing with friends, and I came home with many books form the used book sale.  I was especially excited to get some reading books from Christian Light Publications and a grammar book from Rod & Staff.  The best part is they were FREE!  The woman selling them did accept donations to a local charity which I was happy to give.
Sunday we went to church and stayed for a church BBQ.  We have just started attending this church so it was a great chance to get to know some of the other members better.  My husband quickly took over the pastors job at the grill, I hope he wasn't too intent on cooking!
Afterward we went to a musical given by the Messiah School of the Arts.  Most of the children involved are from homeschooling families we know, so it was very entertaining to see the kids using their gifts, they did a wonderful job and we all were glad we went.
The weekend went by much too fast, but all of us agreed it was a great time.

This week we are busy getting ready for my oldest son's graduation on Saturday.  We have to get haircuts, by some new outfits, things to get ready, clean the house, and make some food.  It is kind of exciting, but I will be happy when it isn't so busy.  I am looking forward to enjoying summer, going to the river, getting together with friends, and having a good time.
Well, things aren't getting done with me sitting here!  Have a good week everyone!
