My blessed DayI hope everyone had a very nice Mothers Day weekend.
I was very blessed by my family and friends, on Saturday we went to a local nursery and my husband bought me two beautiful Rhododendrons for our front yard. Along the way we stopped by a plant sale at a local elementary school, there I bought a couple Lupine starts and my husband bought me a huge purple Dahlia tuber. I was so excited! I never thought I could get excited over plants.
We then stopped to say hello to a friend, who is also my hair dresser and my husband got me a gift certificate to get my hair done. I am loooong overdue, but there are just other things that take priority, I was so thankful! And there is more! We went over to another friends house and she GAVE us a 5 ft. Japanese Maple, 6 pepper starts, a trumpet vine and a Phenomenal berry bush!!! I was thrilled! I was glad I had brought her 3 dozen eggs and told her they could come by and pick up pine chips for their yard anytime (we have piles). I couldn't wait to get home to plant! But first my husband stopped off to get some strawberries from the local strawberry stand, and then to the store and he bought a blueberry bush and a cherry tomato plant! I think he was in the gardening spirit too, especially after visiting our friends garden.
Isn't that great?! On Mothers Day my hubby made me breakfast in bed, and he bought me a bouquet of flowers. My sons made me a card and my oldest son bought me a glass vase made locally which I collect, I was soooo shocked that he bought it on his own and with his own money (they are pricey) that he made me cry!
We went to church, and then for an early dinner my husband BBQ'd carne asada for tacos and I had a nice relaxing day sitting in the sun. I was sooo blessed and thankful, I just had to share!
