Judging Others

I just read a blog entry from someone who is ready to leave because of judgmental comments made by others. This makes me so sad.

I have been a Christian most of my life. I have my ups and downs, but I have a personal relationship with God, and His grace is sufficient for me!

I have run into people who feel like it is their job to tell me how I should act, believe, worship, what I should wear, what I shouldn't wear, what I should say, watch, eat, drink, etc...

What I ask is, "Does it line up with God's word?"

What is most important is what the Bible says, and our personal convictions which come from having personal relationship with God. We need to remember that we may not have the same convictions as someone else, we are all individuals, special and unique, that is how God made us.

Just because we know something is right for us, doesn't mean it is right for someone else. Yes, we can give our opinion, when asked, but it is not our job to correct others whom we really don't know. We only need to worry about ourselves.

If we are constantly judging and trying to push our convictions on others, it is only going to make people despise us.

We don't want to be like the Pharisee's do we?

I have to remind myself of this all the time! Love is the law, and God will do the rest! We don't need to be everyone's personal Holy Spirit!

Mathew 7:2

Do not judge, or you to will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Just found your Blog, I like it {except for the fact you do not use, quote, or believe the King James 1611 Bible} But what you said about people and getting upset, I agree with what you wrote!!!

Thank you for posting this. I too, at times have felt like I wasn't good enough to be posting on this blog and have felt like people might judge me for things I do, or do not do. We all have our stregths and weaknesses and we need to love each other in spite of these things. Thanks for reminding us what we need to be doing.
