THE WORD OF GOD SERIES BY CANDY FOOTE
Snack TIme
"Mom, I'm hungry! What's to eat?"
I hear these words all day long. Okay, it sometimes feels like all day long. When you homeschool, your children have the potential of taking up residence in the kitchen. They love to eat!
For a quick, easy, and wholesome snack let them eat homemade bread and butter. My kids could eat toast all day if I allowed it! They also like peanut butter and honey sandwiches. But plain old bread and butter is a tasty and filling snack.
Best of all, mom doesn't have to run to the kitchen!

Yes, I know what you mean about the kids seemingly wanting to eat all day long. And, it often feels like I can never get the kitchen completely clean because it seems to be in constant use.
And I agree, homemade bread and butter is a great snack, especially at this time of year. Another is homemade muffins. My husband is the better muffin baker in our home. He recently made delicious muffins using the pulp leftover from juicing our breakfast vegetable juice. He added it to an apple bran muffin mix. They were absolutely delicious. Not to mention healthy and very filling.

thanks for visiting my blog! What is funny is that I was on your blog when you were on mine ;) Thanks for the great idea for snacks! I know that my brothers and sisters ask ALL the time for something to eat... I'll have to tell my mom to give them bread and butter (it's actually a punishment around here if you disobey! No dinner but bread!!)!!

p.s. I am adding you to my friends ;) How wonderful to have 12 children! I have 7 siblings (one in heaven), but wish that I had more! When I get married I'm having LOTS if it's the Lord's will!!!
Thank you for remembering.......

my special day today !!! I almost forgot about it until my husband called me from work this morning.
I knew it was coming this week but my thought are on our trip out of town together the first week of Nov. He and I are going back to Gatlinburg Tenn for the week. Just the two of us, no schedule, no children, just time together.
Again, thank you for remembering me today!!

Another snack
I keep a jar of granola made for them. They think it is a treat. They eat it like cookies. Some times with milk but often just a cup of it.
Mine do eat there share of bread and butter also. That seems to come in waves.
