THE WORD OF GOD SERIES BY CANDY FOOTE
Laundry Soap
What's the worst part of making your own laundry soap?
Well, for me it's grating the soap!
I absolutely love using homemade laundry soap, but the
grating part tends to be a little time consuming.
Solutions?
#1 - You know that the kids love to do it, so let them!
#2 - When I have the time, I grate up a lot of soap and store
it in a ziplock bag.
I love it when it's time to make laundry soap and I just have
to reach for that ziplock bag!

We too, let the kids do it a lot of the time.

I cheat and use my food processor. I usually do a few bars at a time and I have also found that if I unwrap the soap and let it dry out a bit, it grates better.

I hate the grating, too - and I've found the dry detergent clogs up my front-loader, causing it to leak all over the place! My next option would be to cook the stuff into a gel, and I haven't been that ambitious lately, heh heh! -chris
