THE WORD OF GOD SERIES BY CANDY FOOTE
Are You Thrifty Enough to Try it????????
I use a lot of Christmas wrapping paper!
I hate the idea of spending a lot of money on wrapping paper.
For the last two years, I have been using plain newspaper.
It hasn't been printed on yet, and it's FREE!!
Just go to your local newspaper office and ask them if they
have any end rolls that they would like to get rid of.
I spray painted it red and green last year. It worked out great!
Just a quick spray, and it goes on practically dry!
So, are you a cheap-skate, umm, I mean thrifty like me???
Let me know if you try it!

I use newspaper ends for the tablecloth at Thanksgiving--complete w/markers nad crayons for ppl to decorate it.......
I have used it for gift wrapping, but still hated doing that so I made cloth gift bags.

Candy,
I like that idea! What I have used is brown butcher paper. I bought a huge roll and just use ribbon or raffia to wrap. I also found a way to make antique looking gift tags from the ones you buy in bulk at Sam\'s Club or Staples and will post that on my blog soon. They will look great with homemade or simple paper and cost nothing near what the store tags cost.

i buy all mine the week after Christmas for 20-30 cents and save it for the year. in fact, a few years ago, a neighbor gave "neighbor gifts" of wrapping paper with a cute little verse (that I have been trying to remember for a year!), and last january bought about 30 rolls for a few bucks to give out this year - now I just hafta remember that little poem!

First of all, thanks SO MUCH the honor of wanting to be put on my friends list! You are now officially on my list! :-) Hope to hear from you often.
Also, about the paper...I, too, use rolls of brown butcher paper. We have several Christmas stamps and stamping rollers that we use to decorate the paper with either before or after we wrap with it. And them we either use regular stick-on bows or rafia ribbon and make our own name tags. I just love it.
Alaska! Oh my! That is one of my life's dream destinations. I'm too much of a "home-body" and too chicken to move that far away from my widowed mom, but if she weren't here we really might consider it. It is still a place that we would LOVE to visit sometime. Please let us know why you are thinking about Alaska for your family - that would be interesting to know.
Blessings from Ohio, Kim Wolf<><

I never ever thought of that. My dd and I were just talking about that today. There is a place near us that sells the big giant rolls of brown paper. It lasted my sil for three xmases. I was going to invest in that, but if the newspaper is free, I heading to the newspaper office soon. Thanks for the tip.
Have a great day.
