Call To The Wall

xrays and also a homeschool question

Went screaming in pain to get xrays at emergency room yesterday evening.   My hip got in a lot of pain after falling on my "keister" two weeks ago.  Like everyone else, I really dislike going to the doctor or any related activity.  But, when I am in a lot of pain, of course, I'll grab whatever might help.

Anyway, praise God!  There are no broken bones nore impacted vertebrae in my spine.  So I asked the doctor "What about my hip?"  He said, "We didn't actually take an xray of your hip.  You need to get your doctor to order and MRI for that."

I'm wondering, if I really needed and MRI to find out about the pain in my hip ... why did they take the xrays in the first place?

So I am still in pain and still on painkillers.

I think what happened was that I tried to get off the painkiller and was on tylenol for a while.  Then I went for a little walk but I must have overdone it and activated my hip pain.

Hope all the homestead bloggers are doing well.

My husband has been teaching Spanish to homeschoolers.  Says one of the parents complained that his class is easier than last year.  I think there are some standards set up that have to be taught?  Is there an internet site for more info.  I think his students have all levels which is difficult.  He has been concentrating a lot on the ability to speak the language.  He is native born Cuban so Spanish is his first language.  His approach is probably different than an English-speaker who teaches Spanish.

MIR's will reveal more than an extra. They will show pinched nerves, muscle damage, tendon and ligament damage where an xray will only reveal fractures, chips and breaks.
If you have the means (ins) I would get the MRI.
Pain killers are no way to live........trust me!
Have a couple different people read your MRI when you get the films!!

Homeschool Spanish.
Most homeschoolers today (the majority) are first generation home educators. They only know how THEY were taught, and when someone deviates from that comfort zone..they get a little freaky!!

Rosetta Stone (so I have heard) is a great program to learn a language........maybe that 'format' would be worth looking into.
I have learned all the Spanish I know from the boys in the kitchen (all from Mexico). We don't sit around and diagram sentences, but they teach me how to communicate in their language and they learn from me, how to speak mine!!
I like it better that way!!

I think your idea of learning Spanish is probably better than the classroom. I learned in classroom and really cannot carry on a conversation. I have volunteered in English Second Language and I feel like your idea of teaching English and learning Spanish makes the best sense. Spanish speaking people need to be encouraged to go into environments where they have the greatest opportunity to actually speak English and when we learn Spanish that sounds like the best idea as well ... get around Spanish speaking people.

I was in lots of pain in my hip then went to the chiropractor and got it adjusted and am much much better. I haven't been for years.I haven't had pain for ever so long, then when it came I remembered a few things that happened to bring it on. When that happened I went on a search and studied about pain. I found it is a messenger. It wants our attention and we must find out the message we are needing at the time. I discovered much truths during this painful time and I am praising God I am released. Sending healing pain free thoughts your way!! Lovingly, rilda
