My Four Favorite Books:
1. Bible
2. Cookbooks of almost any kind (but I love my Little House one the best, today!)
3. Pocketful of Pinecones
4. Any Health Food resource.
My Four Favorite Simple Things in Life:
1. Praying in the cabin we have at the back of the pasture.
2. Sitting by the fire, drinking spiced tea
3. Reading to my boys
4. Watching it rain (I'd say snow, but living in AL that doesn't happen too often)

Ahh, Simplicity...
Just adding my first entry. I love this site. I do hope that I can hear from some folks that are truly trying to homestead. I grew up living half my childhood years in a very small town and half in the country (outside the very small town). So, I know lots about country living. We have 8 1/2 acres now with half of that fenced in as pasture. We have chickens, a pony, a donkey, 3 cats (+ several that claim our food then go back to their real homes), four dogs, and five fish. I think that's all??!! There'll be more, be sure! With three boys and a mom that loves the outdoors we never have a dull moment at our home.
I love the Lord with all my heart and I want my boys to grow up looking back on their lives as a wonderful time of learning and being home more than riding in the car from ballgame to ballgame or whatever. We do play ball, but I strive to make things simple here.
