Terrible Twos?

This is Emma. I took this photo to send to my husband, to show him her latest disaster.  Emma proves her intelligence by spreading the baking soda around the kitchen with... measuring spoons. She's no dumby. At least she used the right utensils.  Emma is 2 years, 4 months and keeps us on our toes!  I think she looks either like the Grinch, or Oscar the Grouch, depending on her countenance at the time. Either way, it's rascally but endearing.

She is just starting to be ready to potty train, which means she is infatuated with the toilet and taking off her own diapers. This has lead to quite a number of disasters and booby traps. Most accompanied by lots of toilet paper.

Her favorite thing to do is to "go" which means that whenever someone is going somewhere in the car, she wants to go along. She runs to get her shoes as soon as someone gets the keys or appears to be leaving, and wails if she can't go along. We have found that if all possible, to take her along, as it keeps her strapped into a carseat  and happy, preventing less messes at home.  Sometimes even at home, we resort to the stroller, which she will buckle herself, and then find herself "stuck" which she proclaims and then soon resigns herself to sucking her first two fingers. Right now, I have to admit that she is cutest when she is sleeping. Emma is a busy girl.

Wednesday, July 23, 2008 - I feel your pain... rofl

Sweet!!! I have one very similar of a 2 yr old brother who decided that his baby brother in the play pen looked chaffed and needed some powder (groan) but WOW, my living room smelled amazing for the longest time after!
got any odd odors on your floor? maybe she knew something you didnt :)
My dad often says "just be glad they can do it" and he's so right. so many moms have littles who for one reason or another cant make those messes and while we're tempted to be jealous at times... LOL... when they have the smarts and the capability to do it, even a mess is reason for praise to the Father for His wonderous gifts.

Have an awesome day, mama!

I have a little helper too! one day I turned my back on the pancakes to get the salt down, only to find she had added baking soda in large hand fulls to the pancakes! she wanted to help! and how do you get mad at that?
of course, you do have to go into the other room to give in to the uncontrolled laughter at times. wouldn't want her to think that adding baking soda is a thing to make mommy laugh!

My son, Noah, is 2 years and 3 months old. He is just now getting interested in the potty as well. THANK GOODNESS!!! I am so sick of diapers. LOL He loves to cook and "tir" (stir) which mommy or daddy. And he started the "unna's" lately (I wanna). I amazed at how much he has been doing in just the last 3 months that he was not doing before his bday!!!

Thanks for sharing the picture!!! How adorable!!

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
