A Wise Tidbit From Money Magazine
Want to save money? Associate with people who don’t spend like crazy. Your friends are a constant guide for how much money you should be spending. If you find friends that are wisely frugal, your own spending will slow down - and you’ll wind up financially ahead. (p. 28)
I have found this to be true, unfortunately! How many times have I had friends who like to spend lots of money and feel pulled in that direction as well? I do so much better when I surround myself with like minded people.

oh yeah! had a friend who knew we made a lot more money than they did, and she was always after me to go do things that cost a hefty chunk or buy pampered chef stuff (she sells) cuz "you can afford it." have another friend who also knows somewhat our financial situation, and she is all about telling me where I can shop to save money, or find good-quality seconds, and we share tips like that. we may have totally different financial situations right now, but we are on the same page....

thanks for swinging by penofjen.blogspot.com! 2 weeks is still very fast, my husband I just knew!
As to this post, it is exactly what I posted on today, living within our means, and this is great advice!
I have a family friendly caption contest every Tuesday. Clean and refreshing. We have been over 50 comments for the past few weeks and several kids have entered, so feel free to swing back and have a go at it!

You are so right. That is one of the things that I love about this site. Saving money seems like the right thing to do instead of just something that you have to or should be doing. Thanks for my chicken condolences(did I spell that right.)haha! I can get some more through this month from McMurray Hatchery. I had a company that had me on their list for Nov. 24 but I cancelled that order because that is just too cold to be transporting chicks. Yes it is usually a spring thing so we will see how it goes.
