January - 2 frugals a day...want to join me?
I just want to preface this by saying that I am not trying to be frugal for frugals sake...and if there was a better word I would use it. My goal is to pay down debt, yes, but along with being frugal I believe it's a healthier way to live, and gets me closer to my goal of living a sustainable and gospel poverty way of life.
On another list they were doing 2 frugals a day in January and I thought it might be fun to do it here. It may get tough to find 2 a day or easy..we'll see!
1. Suzanne sent me the cutest Christmas tags, so I spent the morning cutting pictures from the Christmas cards I received to recycle them into tags for next year.
2. I closed all doors, including cupboards and closets to areas that do not need to be heated. My goal is to get my $300+ heating bill cut in half!
There is my two for today! I better get my thinking cap on for tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I like the "Frugal Challenge" idea. Maybe I should do that with my monkeys - I mean, kids. If nothing else, we might save on toothpaste. ("Is it frugal to smear it all over the sink like that? Noooooo, I didn't think so either....")
You have a beautiful home. Love the pix.

Hi, I like the sound of this, but what a challenge. Did you ever read the Tightwad Gazette? I don't think it's in print any more, but there are books from the gazette printings, the author is Amy Dacyzyn (not sure on that spelling). She has lots of frugal ideas (would that be cheating to look in the book?). Good luck! -Chris

Were in on this challenge! I think it is a great way to remind us to be more frugal each day plus it will be fun to post our frugal ways.

This is a great idea. I don't know that I can come up with 2 a day but I can't wait to read everyone else's. $300.00 a month!!! I want to scream when mine is over $150.00.
Blessings,
Trixi

Thanks for being so caring. I thought I had posted on a couple of your entries but didn't I'm sorry. I loved the pictures of your beautiful homestead (I loved the cage for you blueberry/strawberry plants). You should also be a professional photographer. But then maybe you are. I would love to come up with and post some frugal ideas. But not sure about everyday. I may need to look in a book. Is that okay?
Sincerely, Brenda

There are few things I enjoy more about homemaking than pinching a penny 'till it screams for dear life!
