All Moved In

I guess it's time for an update. Deanna PM'd me and reminded me that I hadn't updated my blog since I fell week or so ago. As far as my falling goes, it seems I'm no worse for the wear. Still a little sore, but doing okay.

We're all moved in to our temporary rental, finally. We've been calling it temporary because we'll only be living here for a few months, because this house does not have sufficient heating to keep us here through the winter. We've been discussing with my parents about our housing situation and how we desperately want to find a home that's our own and to just settle down. But since all the mortgage people have told us that there is no way we can get financing for a house for at least another year, that we'll have to just keep renting, or find another way to finance a house.  My parent's told us that with another little one on the way, they hate to see us moving again, so they are going to purchase a home on their credit and we will make payments until such time as we can finance the house in our name, so we are currently house hunting. We're not in a huge hurry, but would like to be moved out of this house within 6 months, that'll be in October sometime. I'm due in December. So, Lord willing we will be all moved into a home of our own by the time the newest blessing arrives.

Speaking of the newest blessing, I'm 8 weeks along now, and have been battling rounds of yucky nausea and vomiting, and still dealing with the extreme fatigue, but it seems to ease a little with each day. I shamefully have yet to make my first midwife appointment. Just too many things going on, I suppose. But I will be making time tomorrow to sign up for insurance and make my first appointment. I'm also signing up for WIC for myself. I have it for my youngest and it will be so helpful with our growing grocery expenses. I don't like taking any extra government help than I have to, but trying times call for these measures for our family.

My husband and I have decided that our time in this house will be a time of purging and simplifying. We think that the Lord led us here for a reason, even if it's only temporary. We've had to do so many things that we're not used to. Things as simple as going from 2 bathrooms to one. Going from the use of a shower to just a plain ole bathtub, going from a huge kitchen to a box of a kitchen. It's all very different, but I believe that the Lord is preparing us for something. Maybe learning to live with what we're given. Who knows...Whatever it is, we've decided to take this oppurtunity to to truly simplify our lives down to the very basics. I'm going to be purging everything we have, from clothes to kitchen tools, everything. I'm looking forward to seeing how far we can truly go.

For today we are still working at unpacking and getting organized. I'm purging as I go and then will go back and purge some more. I will probably be posting about our journey to simplify a lot in the future and also about our search for the home that the Lord has in mind for us. I'll be checking in more, but will still be trying to keep my priorities in line. I pray your day is a blessed one!

Sara, don't feel about about accepting government help, just remember, we pay taxes so we deserve to use the help as much as anyone else. I also have WIC for myself and my youngest, and I also have Medicaid...if I didn't there'd be no way we could pay for this new baby! You'll be saving so much in groceries just for the milk!
