Wednesday at Home

Good Morning Friends,

My morning started off oversleeping. Thankfully, my husband woke on his own and somehow managed to get all ready and out the door without waking me. I love my husband, but at times he reminds me of the bull in the china store. He's just loud wherever he goes. Our children have somehow learned to sleep right through it, but I on the other hand usually wake when he walks in a room. So how he managed to get out the door without me knowing it is beyond me. But I digress...

I woke at 7am, Maddy's bus arrives by 7:15am, and I actually managed to get her up, dressed, and fed in less than 15 minutes. Don't ask me how I did it, and don't ask me to do it again. I felt so bad. I hate starting my kids days off like that.

I'm a little frustrated right now with that little girl of mine though. She gets a book from the library every day at school, brings it home, and without fail, I read it to her or with her every night and then place it in her backpack ready to go back to school the next day. I even double check it in the morning to make sure it's still there. So I know the book she got last Friday was in her backpack on Monday to go back to school, but somehow she managed to lose it between here and school. Now, we're looking at a fine to pay for the book. grrr. I know, I know, accidents happen. I won't hold it over her head, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.

With the exception of this morning and the afore mentioned missing library book, our days have been going rather well.  I owe it all to starting my day off early. Normally my days start off with getting hubby and middle daughter out the door, and then I sit down and doze until the other kids wake up, but the last few days, as soon as I get Maddy out the door, I get to work and my days have been so much better. I'm getting more done, I'm in a better mood by the end of the day, instead of feeling rushed. It has been so nice.

My plan to go through a room a day decluttering and organizing has gone a bit off track. It worked well for my smaller rooms, but there are a few rooms in our home that will take several days to get all the way through, or at least one good Saturday. So I'm trying to decide the best way to handle it. The flylady system always works well, but hey, I'm a rebel, why do it the easy way. I'm not sure what I'll do, but I figure as long as I spend my days working continually, something's  bound to get accomplished. Well, I'm off for today. Not much going on today, except for the usual school, housework, laundry. I've switched my menu around so that we can have shepard's pie tonight for supper. Yum! I pray your day is blessed beyond all things!

How kids loose things like this is a mystery sometimes isn't it?? Kinda like those socks our washing machines eat. LOL

Kids what can you so with them? Wow, you did good getting her dressed, feed and out the door in 15 minutes. I saw your post on home schooling many ages, well I do a 10 grader and a 12th grader this year, they are able to worh on their own but when their older sister was home it was 3 different grades it was hard , but we learned how to work it.
