Blessings From Home

Nevermind...

Well, it looks like we're not moving, at least not right now. I got a call from the landlord and she said, although our references checked out wonderfully, that someone had turned in an application before us and they checked out too. So first come, first serve.  I'm glad I handed this over to the Lord. I was on the fence as to what was the best thing for us right now, and I sat down last night and prayed about it, and just said Lord, You know what's right for us, and He did. So now onto what to do next. The only reason we were looking for another possible place to move is in hopes that we can find something cheaper. We're paying so much, and right now, we can afford it, as it is, but there is no extra whatsoever. I have our budget down to a tee, and if we stray from it, we're in trouble, and it would be so nice to have a little cushion for emergencies and savings.

I know that we can do more in the way of cutting costs though. I stray from my plans sometimes and I just can't do that. Little things like stopping by Sonic for a drink on the way home, or not being prepared enough for dinner and eating out.  After we get through the holidays, there are going to be some major changes, there has to be. I will posting more on that after Christmas and the New Year. Right now, I just want to focus on the holidays and the reason for the season, and just spending some time with my precious children. Right now, I'm off to go make some fudge with my kids and some cinnamon chex mix, 2 family favorites. We might even squeeze in some rice crispy treats in there.

I am there too! I do feel that sometimes we are left in tight money situations because if we had more... we'd spend more. God is using this time to train us to be more diligent in wise ways of spending. I am finding better ways to save... although, keeping the habits of frugal living often is harder than it sounds... especially when I wasn't raised that way and haven't lived that way for quite a while. I fall back on easy conveniences. I am praying that God will work in me a determined attitude when it comes to money and will work diligence into my character to keep on the right path. You are not alone...

We are in this same situation of not needing to stray from the budget. I have found having some easy meals on hand like tortillas made into sandwiches and homemade soup in the freezer to really help. Sometimes I just don't want to cook and if I have something quick and easy like that it doesn't seem so bad. Anyway, I hope this helps. I know right where you are.
