Blessings From Home

December is here

Wow, this year is flying by! I can't believe December is upon us already. Today we spent the day decorating for Christmas! It was so much fun seeing the delight in my kids eyes as they chose just the right spot to put the ornaments. My youngest was especially enthusiastic...exclaiming "I did it!" each time she hung her ornament successfully. It was precious!

We still have quite a lot of decorating to do. I never realize how many decorations we have each year. I am going to be getting rid of several things that I've come across that don't have any special memories attached and just add too much clutter.

My son is still very sick and I'm afraid I'm going to have to take him back to the doctor by Monday, if not sooner. His fever is still spiking up to 102 and higher and his body just aches so. He's on the 3rd day of a 5 day antibiotic and he's still not making any improvement, which is unheard of with my kids. Almost always they are showing some sign of getting better by at least the end of the 2nd or 3rd day, but not this time. I'm worried that he may have some form of the flu or something that they're just too lazy to check for. Please continue to pray for him. It's so hard to see your child suffering and not know what to do for him.

This week will be a busy one, as I'm sure most weeks this month will be. I have so much circling around in my mind that I know needs to be done, and so I'm just working on trying to figure out when I will get it all done. In addition to taking care of my sick little guy this week, I also am supposed to take him and my middle daughter for a teeth cleaning on Tuesday. Of course, if he's still sick, I will cancel for him until he's better. We'll have to go up to the city for the cleaning and I would like to do a little shopping if I can, but it may have to wait until next weekend. My middle daughter has Santa's workshop at her school this week and I always like to go up and help them pick out their gifts for everyone and then they secretly pick one out for me. I'm going to be putting together some ideas for my son of stuff that he can make for everyone, but I'm not sure what yet. I may take him to the dollar tree to pick out some gifts. I'll talk to him about what he wants to do.

I've got lots of baking and preparing goodies for Christmas gifts. Some of the food that I will be gifting will be...

~Varieties of homemade granola with/without fruits

~Varieties of homemade oatmeal mixes

~Homemade bread-banana, whole wheat, regular

~Homemade jellies, jams, and apple butter

~Mixes-cookie, bread, etc

~Other baked goods-cookies, candies

I also have some crocheted dishclothes that I've made that I may put in some baskets along with my angel towels. I usually buy small and medium baskets from the dollar tree and fill them with a variety of things. Between homemade goods and picking up a few things from the dollar tree, I can usually have a nice gift basket put together for around 5 dollars. Well, it's about time I get off of here and get to bed. This little cold I've had seems to be on it's way out, but I still need extra rest as my little man is getting up several times in the night. Tomorrow I will probably go to church with just my two girls as hubby will stay home with our son, as he knows how much I need and enjoy my time in church. I pray your weekend has been full of blessings.

Love, Sara
