Thrift Store FindsToday the kids and I decided to make a little shopping trip. We had to drive an hour away, but it was well worth it. Here's what we found....
No, we didn't find a cat, but hey, what can I say, she's nosy...lol. But we did find a lovely basket for 1.50. The thing draped across the basket is a beautiful poncho that still had the tag on for less than 2.00. And my favorite is the spice rack. We got it for 4.25! It's all there! Here's a closer pic....
Of course it needs a little cleaning and dusting, but isn't it just too neat. I found it just tossed aside all by itself. Other things we found, not pictured was a t-shirt and pj pants for oldest son and a warm winter nightgown for middle daughter. After the thrift store I decided to run into Hancock fabrics on the off chance they might be having one of their pattern sales and they were! I got 5 McCall patterns for 5 dollars!! I would have spent more than 50 dollars on these patterns if I had bought them not on sale. Unfortunately there was a limit 5 per customer or I would have bought more. Maybe that is fortunate, I probably would have spent too much money. lol. I plan on using these patterns for my kids ofcourse. I've learned my son hates button pants and with good reason. They never fit him properly. There either too tight because we have to buy him a slim or they are too loose. So both of the boys patterns are elastic waisted. The top pattern is perfect for both my girls for some every day dresses and shirts, and the bottom pattern has a too cute apron, bloomers, and a chemise for them to wear under their dresses in the winter. The pj pattern has got cute long gowns for the girls and pant/shirt sets for the boys. And that was our shopping trip. Oh, I also picked up the Little House on the Prairie book to start reading to my kids and a workbook for oldest son to help me teach him music. Well, it is too late, and I am so tired. The kids were a little rotten today and it really wore me out. Tomorrow promises to be another busy one. I pray your day was abundantly blessed!
