A Productive Day, Zippers, and a HSing QuestionHave you ever had one of those days where you actually managed to cram all your to do's in to and maybe even a few extra things? Well, today was one of those days for us. It started off rough with me oversleeping and hubby not getting up for work on time and then deciding to just take the day off....but after that, all seemed to fall into place. We got school done on time, ate lunch, did some laundry, cleaned up the kitchen, did our weekly home blessing, and hubby even helped with the vacuuming. I taught my son a new chore...cleaning the bathroom. We did a little cleaning up outside as the weather permitted. And I got to do quite a bit of sewing. In fact, that's about all I've been doing whenever I wasn't cooking or cleaning, or playing with my kids. I've been working on a dress for my daughter, and I kept on procrastinating (or is that called hem-hawing around in OK). So today I sat down, after all my cleaning was done and decided I was going to do my best to get it done today. Well, I don't think I'll manage to get it done, because my eyes are actually getting a little droopy as I type this, but I've got it all done except the zipper, which I have never done before, so I'm trying to figure it out still, and to hem it up, which won't take me long. If the zipper gets to looking too complicated, I may just opt for some buttons. lol. I can do buttons. Though I would really like to try and master the complication that is the zipper. Tomorrow is my sewing day and I will finish the dress, and just to prove it to you, I will have a picture of the finished product on here tomorrow...along with a few other pictures I've been meaning to post. Tomorrow should be a quiet day....but I've learned to be prepared for anything. And finally, my homeschooling question....As you all know, all of this is so new to me and I am wondering something. I've figured out that things like math and language arts (i.e. spelling, reading, handwriting, etc) are something that is needed every day. But when it comes to things like science, history, geography, etc...do you follow a set curriculum, or do you just find something to do with said subject that would interest your child or you think they should know about and do that? He just turned 7 and seems kind of bored with what we're doing now and I'm afraid I might lose him (attention wise) if I don't find something that he enjoys a bit more. Does that make sense? I would love to hear some ideas from you all. Well, my bed is calling to me, tomorrow is another day! Blessings, Sara { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 316 of 491 } { Next Page } |
