Sara,
We too are 1st time HS'ers this year, but we started in July. 2 out of 3 of my girls came out of PS, and I had many of the same fears you say you have. The good news is, for the most part, the adjustment was harder for me than them. I also like the OFE curriculum, and am using that along with the ideas laid out in The Well Trained Mind. After 2 short months my girls BEG to do more school, especially history. We also cut back on non-family commitments when we started school, even taking the girls out of soccer for this season, so we can focus on US and what God is doing in our lives for a while. I personally like OFE better, but there's a ton of good stuff here also.
