Blessings From Home | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Catching Up MondayWell, it's been a few days since I've been able to make it on here to do any blogging. We have been staying at my folks house since Friday night, because we had no heat and it was freezing! I'm hoping to be able to go home today as the temps begin to warm up finally. Things are coming along slowly but surely. We are moving in less than 6 days! I can't wait! I'm going to have to post pictures of my new home as soon as I can. It's such a wonderful little house, not my dream house, but close. If it were in the country on about 5 acres, then it would probably be my dream home, but alas it's in the middle of town, but in a good neighborhood. My pantry challenge, although cut short, has been a success. I have just enough groceries to get us through the week, with a few extra necessities left over like flour and sugar. Next week will be a lot of sandwiches and quick convenience meals...something I'm not fond of, but we'll be moving. My youngest daughter will be 2 years old on the 18th, so we're trying to figure out how to throw a party in the middle of a move...but I'm sure we'll figure something out. I don't think I've got to mention that I got a breadmaker at Goodwill the other day in perfect condition for 10.00! I was so excited! It didn't have the manual, but I managed to find instructions on Hillbilly Housewife.com. I've made 2 loaves so far, and even though they weren't as good as "made by hand", it wasn't bad, and it was pretty easy. We had a wonderful blessed Easter! We had a "south of the border" meal with enchiladas, rice, refried beans and fiesta corn all pretty much homemade, including the tortillas for the enchiladas. The kids had a great time, hunting eggs in the house and playing with their goodies. My oldest just got a new Bible... a new tradition in our family is to buy our children a "real" Bible for Easter after they have learned to read. So now instead of just a picture bible, he has a brand new KJV kid's study bible with cool facts and information. He loves it and what was amazing about it, was when we went to pay for it, we found out somebody had already payed for it for us. It was a 20 dollar bible, and I guess a woman saw us looking at it and next thing we knew, one of the clerks brought us a receipt saying it had been payed for. Isn't that amazing!? Well, I'm fixing to head back home and my goals for today is to make some more laundry detergent...get some laundry done...keep the house picked up and cleaned....make at least 1 cloth diaper for my little girl...and just hang out with my kids! Have a wonderfully blessed day! { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 410 of 461 } { Next Page } |
