Rough Night

Yesterday after my husband came home, we went to the store for a few needed items and when we got home, we walked in the door, and it was frigid. Our furnace in our rent house quit working! Our only source of heat, except for a little space heater that we use in the bathroom during bath time. My husband fiddled with it, but to no avail. It was already below 50 at 6pm, when we got home.  So I called my folks a little frantic and frazzled because 1. my youngest has gotten very sick in the last couple of days and 2. Our landlords aren't the greatest. I asked if we could please camp out on their floor for tonight and we headed on over. My youngest, Emily, did not sleep at all. She's a very routine child and a homebody like her mom, so needless to say it was not a fun or comfortable night, but even with all that I was just thankful that we had a warm place to go. Well today came and I assumed our landlords wouldn't get around to getting someone in to fix it, but they did! I was so, so thankful! It took all afternoon for the house to get up to the temperature, but I am most appreciative that right now we are warm and comfortable. I do wish in times like these that we lived with either a fireplace or a wood stove, that will definately be an addition when we find a permanent address. Now, my next hurdle will be getting and keeping my kids and husband and myself back to good health and staying that way. Bring on the Vitamin C!
